Trips can be multi-day or just an overnight. We can provide a guide or set you up with the information necessary to lead your own trip including, maps, campsite locations, route information, etc.
A guide enhances your experience by providing the security of local knowledge, organization for meals, daily schedule and travel conditions. A guide will direct the cooking and camping, but by no means will their presence diminish the need for everyone to contribute to the day's work, from meal preparation to portaging. In addition, a guide will help in trip preparation, food outfitting, teaching of canoeing and camping skills, plus organization of personal gear to make your trip fun, successful, and stress-free.
The Temagami Region offers a wide variety of terrain to explore. Are you interested in a lake trip with little or no portaging? Temagami is the place. If you are looking for a bit more adventure, head northwest to the stunning falls of the Trout streams or climb Maple Mountain and get a breathtaking view of the blue/green vistas. If that is not enough, the Temagami River awaits to the south with miles of runable rapids and stunning falls.
At Keewaydin we have a long tradition of cooking from scratch, so our menu is filled with wholesome and hearty ingredients that allow you to adjust for dietary needs (i.e. vegetarians, vegans and food allergies) and quantities. We have extensive food choices for delicious cooking over an open fire. Select your menu from a collection of meals you will look forward to!
What better way to spend your family vacation that in the Temagami wilderness? If you would like to plan a family trip with younger children, ages 7 or younger, we require 2 adults in the canoe group for safety purposes.
