Dear Parents,

Welcome to Keewaydin! Thank you for your interest in our summer camps and environmental education center. Keewaydin has been in operation for over 100 years and currently has three summer camps and an environmental education program for school groups in the spring and fall.

Keewaydin Temagami is our original camp, dating back to 1894! Located in the heart of Ontario's pristine wilderness, Keewaydin Temagami is the premier wilderness canoe tripping camp in North America for boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 18. If your child is looking for the adventure and challenge of exploring the Canadian woods, the call of the loon, the thrill of river rapids and the crackle of the campfire, you should find out more about Keewaydin Temagami!

Keewaydin Dunmore is our camp for boys, ages 8-16, in Salisbury, Vermont. Located idyllically on Lake Dunmore in the Green Mountains, Keewaydin Dunmore is a “traditional camp” offering a wide variety of activities. In addition to many water and land sports, hiking, rock climbing, nature, and arts and crafts, we are most proud of our canoe and backpacking trips which take our campers on adventures all over New England, the Adirondacks and Southeastern Canada.

Songadeewin of Keewaydin is our camp for girls ages 8-16 in Salisbury, Vermont. Located 2 miles from Keewaydin Dunmore, Songadeewin has a similar philosophy and program to Keewaydin Dunmore. The wide variety of activities also includes dance, lacrosse and field hockey. The canoe and backpacking trips are every bit as challenging and varied as at the boys' camp!

The Keewaydin Environmental Education Center (KEEC) is a program for school groups, grades 5-8. School groups come for five day periods and learn about the environment and natural communities in the best possible setting—in nature itself! It is experiential learning at its best!  Parent information specific to KEEC is here.

All of our camps share the mission of providing fun-filled and challenging experiences in rustic and natural settings. Kids love Keewaydin because of the fun, friends and adventure. Parents love Keewaydin because their children not only come home happy, but they come home with greater self-confidence and noticeable growth in character.

I hope that you find our website helpful in getting to know us!  In addition to sections highlighted above for each of our camps/programs, additional information is available by clicking on the tabs in the left margin on this page.  Feel free to contact us with any questions

Sincerely,
Peter Hare, Executive Director
