Annual Fund

The Annual Fund encourages alumni, parents and friends to enrich their Keewaydin ties by making annual gifts. Gifts to the fund help shape the experience of every camper through providing key operating dollars to support financial aid, programs, and facilities at each of the Keewaydin camps and programs.

Flexible Funds for Top Priorities

Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund are used by Keewaydin to cover top priorities in operational expenses—financial aid, staff training and development, program expenses and immediate facilities costs. The fund's flexibility enables Keewaydin to tailor support as circumstances change.

A Necessary Complement to the Endowment

Endowment refers to assets that are invested for the long term and intended to provide a permanent source of support for the Keewaydin Foundation and its camps and programs. Keewaydin's endowment is a collection of funds, 98% restricted for use as camper financial aid scholarships.  Only interest income from endowment funds can be used.  In contrast, the Annual Fund is both fully expendable on an annual basis—which means it can be spent to meet immediate needs—and discretionary, which means Keewaydin can direct it toward the programs that need it most.

Annual Fund Donors Give a Gift of Opportunity

Last year, close to 1,500 donors contributed more than $230,000. The Annual Fund helps maintain the camp's unique character and keep its traditions alive. And, gifts to the Annual Fund provide need-based scholarships, making a Keewaydin experience possible for children from a wide range of backgrounds. For more information, see Scholarships.
